What is net metering in Pakistan?

Net metering is a NEPRA-approved policy that allows solar system owners to export surplus electricity back to the national grid (WAPDA/LESCO/IESCO etc.) and receive credits on their electricity bill. Who is eligible for net metering in Pakistan?

Any consumer with a grid-connected solar system (1kW to 1MW) is eligible for net metering in Pakistan. Residential, commercial, and industrial consumers can all apply. The system must be properly installed and inspected by a licensed solar company.

How long does the net metering approval take in Pakistan?
